Other parades prior to Camp consisted of :
1. Digging gun emplacements
2. Use of instruments
3. Local geography, May reading and
knowledge of gun positions.
After Camp, parades were arranged principally with Combined
Operations in view and all ranks, officers included, were tested
in Schedule B.
Camp was attended by all available members of the Company
and was satisfactory from a training point of view. On the Field
Day, we had more than our share pf hard work which was carried out
with comme ndable cheerfulness and efficiency.
Machine Gun Competition. No.1 (M.G. Company entered four
teams which were placed 1st., 2nd., 4th and 7th. The Company has
won this competition for three years in succession.
Musketry. Last year I had to report that Musketry in the
Company was not up to standard. At the last Corps meeting, however,
it was shown that this situation had improved and our achievement
in winning all team events except one as well as obtaining 1st.,
2nd and 3rd places in both the Musketry and the Tyro Competition,
speaks for itself. It has unfortunately been impossible to hold
the Company monthly shoot at the reak Range owing to this Range
having been put out of action.
Revolver. No revolver training has been carried out during
the past year.
Equipment. During the season, Steel Helmets.have been issued
and also S.D. Caps to replace the blue Porage Caps.

Organization. as montioned above, this Company, which was '10
70 strong a year ago, has had half its personnel transferred to
form a new No.3 (M.G.) Company. In principle I consider that this
was a sound move, putting us it did, all the Eurasian element in
is one separate unit but it, felt that the Company at the present time
A is very short of personnel and consequently cannot adequately find
24 guns for Beach Defence. It is hoped that during the course of
this year it will be possible to increase our numbers considerably.
